Taekwondo: Isah Knocked Out
It is the end of the road for Nigeria’s Muhammad Isah in a medal quest at the almost concluded 2012 Olympics Games in London.
Yesterday at the Excel Arena where the Nigerian faced 3rd seed Abulibdeh Mohammed of Jordan, he was knocked out of the Olympics in the preliminary stage. Isah lost 13.1 in a fight that his opponent earned 12 points by attack to his 0 points.
But on points by penalty, they earned 1-1. Taekwondo is decided in a day at the Olympics.
Isah fought in the men’s -68kg category. The winner of the fight Abulibdeh Mohammed after the fight said: “It was a good start in the competition for me. It is great feeling being here in the Olympic Games. We trained really hard to get here and we are very much prepared for the competition. I feel very good, I am well.” He said.
With Muhammad Isah’s failure to win a medal at the teakwondo event, hope now lies on the more experienced Chika Chukwumerije who will fight Cuban Despaigne Roberlis tomorrow.
