Nigeria: Abdullahi – We Have Responsibility to Take Sports to World Class

Sports Minister and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi yesterday said the responsibility to take the nation’s sport sector to world standard rests with workers in the National Sports Commission, irrespective of their cadre.

Represented at the occasion by the Director of Human Resources, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammed, Abdullahi, at the opening ceremony of a two-day workshop on “improved service delivery for junior officers in the Commission” in Abuja, Abdullahi explained that doing so would impact positively on the life of the Nigerian citizens.

“The responsibility to achieve the mission statement of National Sports Commission rests on all of us which is ‘to develop the Sports Sector to a World Class Level where it would provide continuous improvement of quality of life for the entire citizenry to the extent that Nigeria would be recognized as a leading sporting country in the World”, Abdullahi stated.

Also speaking, the Deputy Director, Reforms and Nodal Officer, NSC, Ms. Ifeoma Ezegwu in enjoined all the participants to the workshop to take advantage of this great opportunity to improve on their service delivery to enhance effective performance on the job.
