IBB Golf Club beat Kaduna

THE two-day Inter Club Match Play between IBB International Golf and Country Club and visiting Kaduna Golf Club 1921 ended Sunday in favour of the host as IBB Golf Club won 42 points to emerge Champion and went home with a glittering silver Trophy at the expense of Kaduna Club that got only 18 points at the end of the competition.

The summary of the result are: In the Doubles, IBB International Golf and Country Club scored 17 12 points while Kaduna Golf Club 1921 had 3 12.  In the Singles event, IBB International Golf and Country Club got 24 12 points while Kaduna Golf Club 1921 scored 14 12 points. IBB Golf Club then emerged winners having scored 42 points to Kaduna Golf Club’s 18.

Speaking after the end of the competition, the IBB International Golf and Country Club Captain, Tony Azogu expressed satisfaction over the quality of golfers and the performance of his team and the visitors too. “The match clearly showed brotherhood and you saw the way me and the Captain of Kaduna Golf Club tidied up on the 18. When you are a golfer you speak one language and the language is golf. We had a good game and enjoyed ourselves,” he told SportingLife in Abuja on Sunday.

Kaduna Golf Club Captain, Arabi Bello despite accepting the superiority of the host club, he still boasted that Kaduna Club remain the University of Golf in the country and instantly requested for a return match in Kaduna in a yet to be fixed date to determine the better side. “The game was balanced and fair and I think they are too smart for us because they used their home knowledge and I think generally they are the bigger winner.
